| Description: |
| It starts very slowly and ends breathtakingly fast. 'Zorba's Dance' by Mikis Theodorakis has become the epitome of Greek music and joie de vivre. For Cacoyannis' world-famous film 'Zorba the Greek' from 1964, the Greek composer took up a Cretan dance and improvised on the tune. The result was the 'Syrtos' which, accompanied by the sounds of the bouzouki, is today heard as Greek music par excellence. |
