The CD ‘Alter Ego’ from which this piece has been taken shows the inspiring interconnection between six outstanding jazz musicians. Quite unusual in jazz is the fact that Myriam Alter put her pieces down on paper to have them afterwards recorded by five important jazz musicians. The all-star band, consisting of Joey Baron (dr), Billy Drewes (sax), Marc Johnson (bass), Ron Miles (tp), and Kenny Werner (p), is conspicuous for first-class acoustic jazz, and a lot of romance. From early childhood, Myriam Alter has mastered the piano, though she did not return to the keys before the age of 36, after almost 20 years' abstinence. After quite a short time, she attracted attention as a brilliant composer, recording various jazz albums.
