| Description: |
Romantic reminiscences and avant-garde techniques, filigreed vocal and instrumental solos, and powerful choral and orchestral passages - Krzysztof Penderecki's 'Credo' unites four decades of personal musical experience and two centuries of music history. When Penderecki, one of the most popular and most prolific composers of our times, was commissioned by Helmuth Rilling in 1996 to write a mass, he focussed on the 'Credo' as most important part of his conception. The 'Credo' is, indeed, one of the most comprehensive Credo compositions and has become an independent, frequently played work.
CD: Helmuth Rilling, Conductor - Juliane Banse - Milagro Vargas - Marietta Simpson - Thomas Randle - Thomas Quasthoff - Oregon Bach Festval Choir & Orchestra - Phoenix Boys Choir, Hänssler Classic HV 98.311 |
