The Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu composed his two-minute 'Fanfare für zwei Bläsergruppen' in 1987 like a sunrise. Reduced intervals and harmonies generate 'Signals from Heaven' which convey feelings of peace and happiness. It is a greeting of the maestro to close friends; 'Day Signal' is dedicated to Toshinari Koinuma.
