| Description: |
Music to relax but also to dance to. In any case, music that is best suited for people who want to forget the world around them and, just once, simply be themselves: Heinz Holliger's short piece 'Togg(el mar)ata' from the Alb-Chehr cycle. If one did not know better, one might think this was giving a small impression of Central Africa or the Caribbean. Actually, 'Togg(el mar)ata' deals with Swiss folk music which, in its minimalist form, has something meditative about it.
CD: ECM New Series 1540 - Elmar Schmid, Klaus Schmid, Clarinet - Paul Locher, Violin - Marcel Volken, Markus Tenisch, Schwyzerörgeli - Sabine Gertschen, Edmund Volken, Dulcimer - Oswald Bumann, Bass |
