| Description: |
The famous 'Spanish March' is a brilliant and effective Paso Doble and one of the most popular pieces of German light music. Composer Josef Rixner, born in 1902, played violin and piano and taught himself the art of composing. In the early 1930s he went to Berlin and wrote for the revue theatre Admiral's Palace where he became composer of the house. His music was highly acclaimed and admired by serious composers such as Richard Strauss. The last movement from his suite 'Happy Weekend' became a striking success and is an absolutely catchy tune.
