Landscape and nature are (alongside of sacred muisc) the domitating topics of the works by the Latvian composer Peteris Vasks.
With his piano piece White Landscape he throws a melancholic glance out of the window. Winter has arrived and covers the world with a blurry veil which makes it difficult to delimit earth and sky. Over and above, it has become silent - one can only hear loose muted sounds. Nature and music have fallen into a deep slumber.
