| Description: |
In ‘Helsinki Snow – East Net’, Trance Groove prove in the best possible way what they stand for: sound episodes move on driving beats, accompanied by a ‘sinful’ trumpet. In the best tradition of Can, the music of Trance Groove is found and invented in a moment. The basis is formed by their own loops on which they improvise again and again. In addition, there is much experimenting, ranging from exotic rhythms to exotic sounds. This sound structure is kept together by a basic instrumental and musical idea. The motto is: Playing instead of programming. The band ‘Trance Groove’ was founded by the drummer and percussionist Stefan Krachten and the producer and bassist Dal Martino. The ensemble is completed by friends and colleagues such as the keyboarder Helmut Zerlett, Jürgen Dahmen (keys, Helmut Zerlett Band), Reiner Winterschladen (trumpet, NDR Bigband and Nighthawks) and DJ Heli (Klaus Doldinger). The idea was and is to make new music in a moment on the basis of loops – spontaneously improvised, hazardously composed, ‘without a net or a false bottom’. Bass and percussion form the core upon which they play what they like.
